BOTB RESULTS: 2024, AUG. 15 (Or, FARAWAYEYES TRIBUTE)

.
My eternal gratitude to everyone who came by to read my Battle Of The Bands Tribute to Barbara (a.k.a. FarAwayEyes, FAE, Nitro Wilbury Babskiddo) and submitted a vote in the contest which took place > HERE. And a very special Thanks & shout-out to my friend > 'Wild Thing' Donna for writing & posting her own BOTB Tribute to FAE.
.
My contest was a rare 3-Way between 'Far Away Eyes' (The Rolling Stones) versus 'Summertime' (Janis Joplin) versus 'Wildflowers' (Tom Petty).
.
I predicted the outcome of this BOTB installment precisely! I must be sikike! Despite the title of the Rolling Stones' song 'Far Away Eyes', which Barbara had borrowed for her online pseudonym, Tom Petty's 'WILDFLOWERS' was the perfect musical epitaph for FarAwayEyes (Barbara). Without a doubt, I knew in advance that The Stones' 'Far Away Eyes' was the biggest underdog in this Battle and that it might not get a single vote (and, no, it didn't), but I still felt that it needed to be in this BOTB contest.

I was 422.83% sure that Mr. Petty would run away with the victory here. I have no doubt that Barbara herself would have voted for Tom and is looking down at these Results, very pleased with them!
.
FINAL TALLY:
The Rolling Stones = 0 votes
Janis Joplin = 4 votes
Tom Petty = 9 votes
.
I gave Janis Joplin my own vote. Honestly, I was never a real Joplin fan. As mentioned, I went to see Big Brother & The Holding Company perform on August 3rd primarily because I was thinking about how I'd once told FAE that she had "Janis Joplin Hair". I was thinking that the only J.J. songs I liked were 'Piece Of My Heart' & 'Me And Bobby McGee'.
.
.
But when the band launched into 'Summertime', I had one of those "Uhp! I'm an idiot!" moments. I had forgotten all about that song & the history I have with it. (It's a Senior Citizen thang.)
.
First of all, the passion in Joplin's singing!...
"Honey, n-n-n-n-n-n-n-nothing's going to harm you now!"
.
While hearing the following lyrics sung on Aug. 3rd, I *knew* this song was intended to be in my BOTB Tribute to FAE
.
One of these mornings
You're gonna rise, rise up singing
You're gonna spread your wings
Child, take to the sky
Lord, the sky
.
I also remembered how this song is connected to another dear departed friend of mine. I've mentioned my acting buddy Marty, who was killed by a car thief in 1989. In 1981, when the movie 'American Pop' was released, Marty and I went to see it together. We both loved it. I later bought the soundtrack LP (which turned me onto Dave Brubeck's 'Take Five', which turned me into a Jazz fan).
.
Marty identified with the character Tony in 'American Pop', and one year for his birthday, I created an oil painting for him, 4' to 4'5" tall of this image:
.
.
It came from the following scene in 'American Pop':
.
.
So, today, I have that song and that imagery associated in my mind with two good friends who have gone on to Heaven before me.
.
I'm pleased that Tom Petty's 'Wildflowers' won this Battle, but I'm equally pleased that I was inspired by The Spirit to use Joplin's 'Summertime' in this BOTB Tribute.
.
I intend to eventually write a full-length Tribute to Barbara and post it on my 'Stuffs' blog (and I'll post a link to it on this site). Before that happens, however, I'll need to look through a lot of old Emails. (Is 963 a lot?) Prior to that, I'm planning to return here with a new BOTB's Battle Of The Booze installment on September 1st. I hope you all will return here, too. Until then...
.
Bless & Be Blessed!!

BATTLE OF THE BANDS: 2024, AUG. 15 (Or, IN MEMORY OF 'FAR AWAY EYES')

.
"She's a good girl, loves her Mama
Loves Jesus and America, too"
~ Tom Petty
.
It is with a very heavy heart that I am composing this, the only Battle Of The Bands installment I've ever constructed upon a foundation of deep sadness.
.
I recently learned from my friend Donna (a.k.a. Wild Thing) that our mutual friend Barbara (a.k.a. FAE) of the blog Far Away Series has left us and gone Home (a.k.a. Heaven). After sufficiently looking back & compiling the right information, I fully intend to eventually publish an
E-Ticket Tribute to the wonderful & incredibly unique FAE on my 'Stuffs' blog. But until then, this BOTB installment will be the placeholder.
.
Barbara went by the pseudonym farawayeyes. I still recall the time I left a comment on one of her blog posts in which I called her FAE. She asked me what this "FAE" stuff was about, and I replied: FarAwayEyes. Amusingly, after that, a LOT of her commenters also began calling her FAE, which she came to accept.
.
As she and I began Emailing each other, I gave her a new nickname: Nitro Wilbury Babskiddo (or just Nitro for short), which I also began using in her comment sections. Over the years, she and I exchanged many gifts, letters & cards, which she would sign as "~Nitro" or "~N".
.
As most of you know, FAE was the person who published the first "Battle Of The Bands" in our li'l corner of the blogosphere, which was the springboard for what we are still doing NOW, this very day.
.
In her blog bit on Wednesday, July 10, 2013, titled 'House Guests & Battle Of The Bands', FAE posted a BOTB using Nina Simone & Muse. She later described it thusly:
.
Glad you guys enjoyed the Battle of the Bands. I admit it was a lazy way to fill a blog post for me this past Wednesday.
.
And two years later, in 2015, she added this:
.
If you didn’t know this before, I actually started this in an attempt to post something on my site when I had nothing else to say. Mr. Stephen T. McCarthy picked up on it and encouraged me to join with him and make it a bi-monthly endeavor. Others started to join in and... as they say... 'the rest is history'.
.
[Fun Fact: On this blog, I have always written "Battle Of The Bands" and "BOTB" in blue as a tribute to Barbara who always posted in blue & wrote her Emails in blue.]
.
Here are a few more quotes from FAE (Nitro), whom I will greatly miss until I too go Home:
.
I consider myself a ‘water person’. I love the water and do some of my best thinking ‘neck deep’. When it’s cold outside and all else fails, even the shower proves to be a great ‘think tank’ for me.
.
...my personal thermostat no longer works, and I can not seem to ever get warm enough, plus having lived in a place of perpetual Summer for three years... well, I think you can see why Summer is now my favorite time of year.
.
If you know me or think you know me, or if you've only come around here occasionally you know that my favorite musician / writer of all time is Tom Petty. This past Summer, right smack dab in the middle of my move from Nevada to Idaho I was taken to see him perform in person at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado. ... When Tom sang 'Wildflowers', I promise you it was just for me. ... Tom Petty wrote my life in his songs. I know a lot of people say that about musicians, but this is uncannily true.
.
When asked in a blogfest, "What is life to you?", her response was 'Wildflowers' (which was linked to the Tom Petty song).
.
Although she didn't have the easiest life, Barbara (FAE, Nitro Wilbury Babskiddo) remained a steadfast, Bible-reading Christian who had many extraordinary Spiritual experiences!! She related several of them to me via Email.
.
Trying to decide on which songs to use in this memorial BOTB contestI was overwhelmed by the countless possibilities, like a mangy dog overwhelmed by ticks & fleas! At one point I was thinking of constructing a Battle between Nina Simone & Muse, like FAE did in the very first BOTB
.
After much reminiscing & mental agonizing, I decided that Tom Petty's song 'Wildflowers' (which was quite possibly FAE's all-time favorite song) absolutely had to be in this contest.
.
On August 3rd, I went to see Janis Joplin's backing band Big Brother & The Holding Company perform. The drummer (Dave Getz) & bass player (Peter Albin) are original members of the group.
.
Big Brother & The Holding Company, Aug.3, 2024
.
The primary reason I wanted to see that band was because of a humorous incident that Nitro & I shared in an old Email exchange. After I saw this old photo of her for the first time...
.
FAE holding baby Michael.
.
...I wrote this: "You looked so 1968 with all that Janis Joplin Hair". She replied, "I've had a lot of comments about my hair, but that is the first time anyone has ever called it Janis Joplin Hair".
.
A photo I took in the > Silver Dollar Saloon in Virginia City, NV. - Aug. 12, 2024.
.
I knew that Summer was FAE's favorite season & that she liked Joplin's cover of the song 'Summertime'. On Aug. 3rd, when Big Brother & The Holding Company played 'Summertime' & the vocalist (Darby Gould) sang the lyrics below, I felt the Holy Spirit prompt me within and I knew that I was meant to use Joplin's version of this song in this Battle!
.
Don't you cry
One of these mornings
You're gonna rise, rise up singing
You're gonna spread your wings
Child, take to the sky
Lord, the sky
.
I have no doubt that Barbara - from where she Lives now - embracing my snarkastic sense-of-humor, approves of this song selection!
.
Therefore, I thought this Battle had been "settled" & "decided": It was going to be Tom Petty (wildflowers growing & a boat in the water) versus Janis Joplin (her hair spreading like wings and taking flight in the Lord's Summer sky).
.
But then I remembered that many years ago, Barbara admitted to me that (as I had suspected) she'd taken her online pseudonym, Far Away Eyes, from the Rolling Stones' song of the same name.
.
Therefore, in honor of Barbara (farawayeyes, FAE, Nitro Wilbury Babskiddo), this BOTB installment is going to be a very rare 3-Way contest. Below are your contestants. Please vote for the song that *YOU* like best. No matter how you vote, it will be a tribute to our dear friend and Heavenly resident who started this whole BOTB shebang 11 years ago & which still lives on now, even after her departure to a FarAwayBetterPlace!

BOTB RESULTS: 2024, AUG. 1 (Or, ROGER's WINE Versus BOBBY's WINE)

.
My last Battle Of The Bands contest took place HERE, and it was between 'Chug-A-Lug' by Roger Miller and 'Leopard-Skin Pill-Box Hat' by Bob Dylan.
.
It was a big blowout (someone brought a cat to a dogfight), but I thank ALL of you for Visiting, Listening & Voting.
.
Although I was awakened, raised & liberated by Roger Miller, my own vote went to Bob Dylan. No one could pack more serious meaning into a seemingly silly & superficial song than Mr. Zimmerman could.
.
Regardless... the end result was pert-dern lopsided:
.
FINAL TALLY:
Roger Miller = (cranked up to...
11 votes
Bob Dylan = 3 votes
.
The last time I saw something that lopsided, it was me on a bicycle, riding home after a day & night at Rail City Casino. (I lost my money, my cowboy hat, and my self-respect!!)
.
Please return for my August 15th Battle Of The Bands installment. We are going to take a one-Battle break from the booze (a.k.a. hooch & evidence), because I have something very, Very, VERY special planned. Bear in mind that I very, Very, VERY rarely describe something as very, Very, VERY special, so that goes to show you how very, Very, VERY special this next BOTB installment is going to be. (If you only knew... how much my heart hurts while I type this silliness! 'Wild Thing' knows, but none of the rest of you do... yet.)

BATTLE OF THE BOOZE: 2024, AUG. 1 (Or, ROGER's WINE Versus BOBBY's WINE)

.
Welcome to BATTLE OF THE BANDS' Battle Of The Booze installment #14. I'm 422.83% sure this will not be one of my more popular Battles because not everyone digs novelty songs and not everyone digs Zimmy. But, as I mentioned to MMQE recently: "I'm-a do it because... I gotta be me ...and if I don't be me, who will?"
.
I recently published a blog bit in which I explained how I came to write (and think?) the way I do. It was titled HOW I LEARNED TO "WRITE RIGHT" (Or, WHO, WHAT, WHERE, WHEN, HOW & Sometimes Y) But to save y'all the trouble of reading that un-masticated mess, I can put the three-tiered explanation into a Milk-Bone sized summary that even a winky dinky dog could get down in a single swallow:
.
1) Being repeatedly awakened for school by Roger Miller's song 'You Can't Roller Skate In A Buffalo Herd' when I was in 5th and/or 6th grade.
.
2) Repeated listening to Bob Dylan's album 'Bringing It All Back Home' when I was a teenager.
.
3) A bizarre hangover I experienced near Venice Beach in June of 1983 that threw me through the "DO NOT ENTER" barricade that had been erected in my mind by mean & nasty social engineers.
.
That blog bit has inspired me to do a Roger Miller versus Bob Dylan Booze Battle. (The songs are free, but the bizarre hangover you'll need to purchase with your own money, as I simply can't afford to treat you all to a bizarre hangover. Money doesn't grow in cabbage patches, ya know!)
.
OK, you know what to do: LV&V.
(Listen, Vote & Visit... the other BOTBers.)
Do it today... "or the Wolfman's gonna getcha!"
.
Alright, let's get on it.
Let's get ON this thing!

.
Grape wine in a Mason jar
Homemade and brought to school
By a friend of mine 'n' after class
Me and him and this other fool decide
That we'll drink up what's left

First time for everything
Hmm, my ears still ring

.
Well, you look so pretty in it
Honey, can I jump on it sometime?
Yes, I just wanna see
If it's really that expensive kind
You know, it balances on your head
just like a mattress balances

BOTB RESULTS: 2024, JULY 15 (Or, PINA COLADA Versus MARGARITA)

.
My sincerely sincere gratitude to everyone who took the time to visit & vote on my July 15th BOTB's Battle Of The Booze installment which happened HERE.
.
Warren Zevon's zong 'Werewolves Of London' (pina colada) went up against the other Warren Zevon's 'Desperados Under The Eaves' (margarita) and it was a very good Battle (meaning "a very close Battle").
.
I really like a lot of Warren Zevon's zongs, and still own four of his albums on compact discs. My music collection wouldn't be complete without songs like 'Poor, Poor Pitiful Me'; 'I'll Sleep When I'm Dead'; 'Carmelita'; 'Bad Karma'; 'Even A Dog Can Shake Hands'; 'The Heartache'; 'Ain't That Pretty At All'; 'Looking For The Next Best Thing'.
.
And although 'Werewolves Of London' is essentially just a novelty song, I happen to love novelty songs. (Anything that can put a smile on my face in this pathetically sad world is A-OK by me!)
.
However, 'Desperados Under The Eaves' has always been my very favorite Zevon zong. I won't drone on and on and on and on and on and on and bore you with all of the details that make 'Desperados...' my favorite of Warren's recordings. But I do want to say that I find the song very anthemic, in the way that it builds up, through the down-'n'-out paranoia of the beginning, to that very hopeful chorus and orchestra at the end.
.
"LOOK AWAY DOWN GOWER AVENUE!"
.
I've also always been intrigued by the mystery of this song. "Gower Avenue" is really a "Street", but I suppose Zevon called it an avenue for the additional syllables in the lyrics' meter. I don't know what Gower looks like today, but when I lived in helL.A., Gower was a very dirty, grungy, impoverished looking street that ran through the center of disappointing Hollywood. The only notable thing about Gower that I'm aware of is that it runs right alongside the western edge of Paramount Studios and the Hollywood Cemetery, which abuts Paramount to the north.
.
I've always wondered what Zevon found hopeful (and maybe even salvational?) about Gower Street. Was it the fact that a historical dream-making facility like Paramount was located there, right in the middle of slumsville? Perhaps Warren found it funny that there in Hollywood, smack-dab against a major movie studio was a cemetery (the final resting place for Rudolph Valentino, Judy Garland, Cecil B. DeMille, Mickey Rooney, Tyrone Power, Douglas Fairbanks, and Mel Blanc).
.
At any rate, I've always loved the lyrics, the melody, and the strange, positive ending of 'Desperados Under The Eaves', so naturally that is where my vote landed, giving us this...
.
FINAL TALLY:
Zevon's 'Werewolf' = 5 votes
Zevon's 'Desperados' = 6 votes

.
.
'Desperados Under The Eaves' will advance to BOTB's Battle Of The Booze playoffs, while the 'Werewolf' drowns his sorrow in pina coladas at Traver Vic's.
.
Thanks again, y'all. Please return for my next Battle on August 1st. "We are going to drink... > WINE!"

BATTLE OF THE BANDS: JULY 15, 2024 (Or ZEVON Vs. ZEVON & PINA COLADA Vs. MARGARITA)

.
Welcome to my Lucky 13th installment of BOTB's Battle Of The Booze
.
My headbone went through so many different idears for this BOTB installment that I began to feel like a horse's patootie switching jackasses in midstream! I finally rolled the dice, flipped the coin, consulted my Magic 8-Ball and then settled on this: Zevon zong versus Zevon zong!
.
I've always loved me some Warren Zevon. The dude had a twisted, sardonic sense o' humor, much like mine own. Warren has to be one of the most famous One-Hit-Wonders in music history.
.
1978: Zevon's zong 'Werewolves Of London' was just starting to get some radio airplay when I walked into the Licorice Pizza store on Wilshire Blvd. in helL.A. (Any of you old-timers remember that record store chain?)
.
.
Zevon's album 'Excitable Boy' was on display next to a sign that said if one bought the LP and didn't like it, they could return it for a FULL REFUND! That was exceedingly unusual in '78. Since I'd heard and liked the 'Werewolves' song, I purchased the album.
.
Did I return to Licorice Pizza? Yes, I did. But NOT to return the LP I'd purchased. I returned to buy his earlier album, the self-titled 'Warren Zevon', which I liked even better than 'Excitable Boy'.
.
Fun Fact: Zevon wrote the hit song 'Werewolves Of London' while in a friend's house in Venice, Italy helL.A. According to one source, the house was actually located along one of the Venice canals, where I used to hang out playing "Huckleberry Sawyer" on borrowed rafts in the very early '80s. I'd usually bring a bottle along to keep me company. The canals looked like this then:
.
Venice canal in helL.A., photo by "Huckleberry Sawyer" (STMcC), circa 1982.
.
Today, the rebuilt houses along those same canals go for multiple millions of buckaroos! (Look HERE! and dream on.)
.
I saw a werewolf drinkin' a Piña Colada at Trader Vic's
And his hair was perfect!
~ 'Werewolves Of London'
.
In 'Desperados Under The Eaves' (1976), Zevon zang about drinking a whole lotta Margaritas, see?...
.
I was thinking that the gypsy wasn't lyin'
All the salty Margaritas in Los Angeles
I'm gonna drink 'em up
~ 'Desperados Under The Eaves'
.
Fun Fact: Zevon's favorite place for Margaritas in Los Angeles was El Coyote Mexican restaurant. And I agreed with him on that point. It was El Coyote for Maggies but it was > Antonio's for Mexican cuisine. (Enchiladas Oaxaca! Hot-Dog!! Best food whole the world.

BOTB RESULTS: JULY 1, 2024 (Or, BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN Versus WAR)

.
My sincere thanks to everyone who participated in my special 4th of July Battle Of The Bands contest which took place HERE. The songs were '4th Of July, Asbury Park (Sandy)' by Bruce Springsteen & 'Whose Cadillac Is That?' by War. The music theme was related to The League Of Soul Crusaders sneaking into a big L.A. Fourth of July parade in 1983.
.
I really enjoyed reminiscing in the blog bit & comment section. The voting, however, was as one-sided as I'd anticipated. (The fake "working man" who, according to multiple sources never had even one real job in his entire life, took a beating!)
.
FINAL TALLY:
Bruce Springsteen = 2 votes
War = 11 votes (including my own)
.
Miller & Mickie Darlin' - The League's "official" dog, who was even crazier than The League members were!
.
"Filly-Waggit" ready for installation.
.
Cranium, Napoleon & Torch on the roof of the Bay Street house. ("Filly-Waggit" is in the chimney.)
.
STMcC (73.6% hungover) in line for Springsteen concert tickets, 1984.
.

THE LEAGUE OF SOUL CRUSADERS
Chapter 18: Eye Of The Storm
.
It is my wish to take this opportunity to shed a new light on the individuals who comprised what had become known as The League. I want to reveal a new dimension that will add more insight into our personalities and counterbalance our wild, barbaric exploits with something of a more civilized nature. And therefore, I go on record as stating that in all honesty there were indeed hours, even days, when not one vulgar word or noise (of mentionable volume) was emitted from the house on Bay Street. There were days when not so much as a sip of alcohol passed the lips of a single League member. There existed times when a great amount of intelligence was displayed, a concern for fellow human beings and, yes, even an astonishing sense of maturity. It is equally true, however, that these times were fairly rare.... which accounts for the brevity of this chapter.
.
Thanks again to everyone who "boted" in this Battle! I intend to return with a new Battle Of The Booze installment on July 15th, so y'all come back now, y'hear?

BATTLE OF THE BANDS: JULY 1, 2024 (Or, BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN Versus WAR)

.
"The great ones have always broken the rules."
~ Martin Crane (episode: 'Motor Skills')
.
This time, we are taking a break from Battle Of The Booze in order to do a special 4th of July 'League Of Soul Crusaders' themed BOTB installment.
.
As most of you already know, in the early 1980s, I was a member of a group of friends known as The League Of Soul Crusaders (TLOSC) in the Santa Monica "Dogtown" area. Sowing our youthful, wild oats, we were loud, rowdy & funny, and everyone wanted to party with us. Even people who didn't drink much wanted to party with us!
.
The League was comprised of 6 primary members: Torch (the unofficial leader), Napoleon (a.k.a. Nappy), Twinkie, Lynthy-Pooh (a.k.a. General Poohregard, or Pooh for short), Cranium & myself. Each of us had a Ph.D. in Carpe Diem. There were also occasional fill-ins, or "pinch hitters" (a baseball term), such as Wally, Oscar, Dean, Kelly & Marty, et al.
.
The genesis of TLOSC occurred on the day when Torch introduced himself to me on the set of the Gene Wilder movie 'The Frisco Kid'. Later, he introduced me to his buddy Lyle (Pooh) and, both of us being Thin Lizzy fans, we hit it off immediately.
.
The  League's comedic heroes were W.C. Fields, Laurel & Hardy, Monty Python, Benny Hill, The Three Stooges, Deputy Dawg & Wally George.
.
We led the league in Most Amount Of Energy Expended In A Single Night, Most Number Of Jokes Told In A Night, Fastest & Funniest Ad-Libbing, Most Dangerous Stunts Involving Old Cadillacs & Other Autos, Highest Number Of Chess Pieces & Coconut Heads Knocked Down In A Night & other feats of astounding athleticism!
.
The trunk of Cranium's 1959 Cadillac. RCA Victor's dog Nipper & his many 80-proof friends!
.
The League Of Soul Crusaders inspired the creation of 2 poems, a 196-page single-spaced book manuscript, and a great Rock song (HERE).
.
L-R: Twinkie, Nappy, Wally, Torch, Stephen (me) & Pooh, sitting on the roof of a bank, July 4, 1983.
.
Two Things You Must Know For This Song Battle
1) At that time, all of the League members were big fans of Bruce Springsteen. One night in 1984, The League even rented a Winnebago and went to a Springsteen concert together.
.
2) We were most often seen together riding in Torch's 1964 Cadillac. Torch had taken a blowtorch to the Caddy and removed the metal roof, making it permanently topless; and he named the car "Tiburon" (Spanish for shark). We rode in Tiburon rain or shine!
.
The League in Tiburon - 4th Of July Parade, 1983.
.
Nappy in a Springsteen shirt & giving the "Beee!" sign.
.
In Los Angeles there's a fancy-schmancy area called Brentwood, where an annual 4th of July Parade was held. In 1983 the parade included floats, marching bands, mounted cowboys, a motorcycle stunt team, mayors & various other city officials, as well as famous celebrities (Chevy Chase, Ted Knight & Dick Butkus).  The League decided that Tiburon should be in that parade so... we sneaked in.
.
And that explains why this BOTB installment is between two radically different songs: Bruce Springsteen's 4th Of July, Asbury Park (Sandy) and WAR's Whose Cadillac Is That?
.
4th Of July, Asbury Park (Sandy)

.
1984: Stephen T. McCarthy & Lynthy-Pooh (both tired & hungover) waiting in line for Springsteen concert tickets. The night before, we'd ordered pizzas & had them delivered to "the six guys sitting on the couch at the intersection of 4th & Colorado in Santa Monica".

🐝👌 EXTRA! EXTRA! 🐝👌
READ ALL ABOUT IT!
4 or 5 weeks before Christmas in '83, I got the idea to write the full story of The League Of Soul Crusaders and present a copy of it to each of my friends as a Christmas gift. So, I disappeared from their lives during that time, and a couple of them mistakenly thought that I was snubbing them & acting stuck-up.
.
Boy, were they in for a surprise when I gave each of them a copy of "the book" on Christmas Eve
.
I had to write & type the 196-page manuscript as fast as possible. Time was of the essence, and there were occasions when I was mentally composing the chapters while simultaneously typing them! It was the roughest of rough drafts. And therefore, "the book" contained countless typographical errors, improper punctuation, and incorrect words. I had no - zero, zilch, nada - time to make corrections on the typewritten pages. It was an AS-IS project.
.
Should anyone be interested in reading the pages from 'The League Of Soul Crusaders' which addressed our sneaking into the 1983 4th Of July Parade -- to learn how it happened & how the police and parade spectators reacted to our intrusion -- you'll find links below:
